ASSESSORS MEETING MINUTES

AUGUST 11, 2005

 

6:45 P.M.  Called meeting to order.  Present:  Paula Keefe, Ellen Abelson, Richard

                  Gorden and Mark Mazur

 

1.  The Board granted a clause 22E veteran’s exemption to the owner of Parcel

     #056003000.

 

2.  The Board granted fiscal year 2004 and fiscal year 2005 abatements to the owners of

     parcel #097002000 in final settlement of their Appellate Tax Board cases for those

     years.

 

3.  The Board reviewed a contract with Vision Appraisal Technology for Data

     Re-Inspection Services.  The contract will be for three years with a Town option

     for two additional years.

 

4.  The Board signed four original copies of the contract with Vision Appraisal

     Technology for Data Re-Inspection Services.

 

5.  The Board signed partial classified land lien releases for parcel #124006000.

     The property has not been taxed as classified land for over six years and so the Town

     is not due any penalty taxes.

 

6.  The Board read an article on plans for the Rattlesnake Hill subdivision.

 

7.  The Board reviewed proposed changes to residential tables and schedules for fiscal

     year 2006.  They also examined the assessment sales ratio studies that these changes

     would result in.  The Board then gave their approval for the changes to residential

     tables and schedules for  fiscal year 2006.

 

8.  The Board voted to request authorization from the Commissioner of Revenue to issue

     preliminary tax bills in fiscal year 2006.  This vote does not obligate the Town to issue

     preliminary tax bills, it simply gives the Town the option of doing so.  If the Board

     had not taken this vote by August 15, 2005 we would have been prohibited from

     issuing preliminary tax bills for fiscal year 2006.

 

9.  The Board decided to hold their next Board meeting at 6:45 P.M. on Thursday, August

     25th.
